Morehouse College Football

The team is currently 5-1 and trailing the leader in its conference, Albany State. This is the first time that Morehouse has ever been in the top 25 of this poll.

Morehouse plays in NCAA Division II in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. There are five remaining games on their schedule this season, two of which will be played in Atlanta. The high scoring Morehouse offense has been led by a trio of pink jets jersey quarterbacks this season: William Brack, Byron Ingram, pink jets jersey and Donnay Ragland. Running back David Carter, a sophomore from Marietta, Georgia, leads the team in rushing yardage. Senior defensive lineman Derrin \"Freight Train\" Nettles has been outstanding on defense, forcing turnovers and sacking opposing quarterbacks.

The head coach of the Maroon Tigers is Rich Freeman. The Atlanta native has been at Morehouse since the 2007 season. Before coming to Morehouse, Freeman spent two seasons at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, where he served as an assistant head coach and the defensive coordinator. He has coached at several other colleges, primarily as a defensive specialist. Morehouse plays their home games at B.T. Harvey Stadium. The facility was built in 1983 and named after the most successful athletics coach in Morehouse history. The stadium has a seating capacity of 9,000.
